We've Moved!

We have made the move from our sweet little house on Crazyhorse Pass, to South Austin. We have so many fond memories living there and it was Sam's first home, but the time had come to make the move to a little larger home in preparation for baby #2, and a closer commute to work for us all. It was a whirlwind experience of selling and buying a new home simultaneously. The housing market is so nuts right now that houses are selling in less than a few days, so you had to be quick and ready to sell or buy. This was difficult for me as I like to mull things over, but there was so little time. Luckily we had looked at many, many houses and knew what we needed in a new home and were able to hone our buying skills and move quickly. Our old house sold in 5 days and we had a bid on a new house that very same week. So we sold a house and bought a house all in a matter of 6 days...insane. We closed on the old house on June 19th and the new house on June 21st. Thank goodness for amazing friends to help watch Sam and Verna to help with the actual move to make it all go as smoothly as possible. There were a few hiccups on the closing day of the new house and I thought we might be homeless for a day or two, but it all worked out in the end. Unfortunately I haven't taken any house pictures to post yet, that will hopefully be soon to come. But here are a few other good ones to look at.

As for baby #2, we have 8 weeks left and counting. My ever growing belly is really starting to weigh me down and I am feeling extremely pregnant now, but still have some time to go. Sam's 2nd birthday is quickly approaching July 25th. It's so hard to believe two years have passed, he is becoming such a fun little person.  He is doing pretty well with the move and adjusting to a new daycare. It has been a lot of changes for the big guy, but he  is overall rolling with it very well. Thank goodness that kids are so resilient.

Moving day. Since all the dishes were packed, Quinn had to eat his morning cereal out of Sam's bowl, which was pretty funny. Reo, the cat, is his morning companion waiting for the last of the milk to slurp up.
Loading up our stuff! We rented a giant U-Haul and hired two guys from the Home Depot
parking lot and got the job done quickly.
We had to buy a new washer and dryer as the buyer of our old house wanted our old stack-able set. So here is Sam, Aunt Verna and Odelia making the boxes into their club house. It sat here for 2 weeks and then had to move to the recycling bin under the cover of darkness, after Sam went to bed.
This past Sunday we went to an evening Symphony on the lawn that the Austin Symphony puts on each week through the summer. This was our first time going and it was so fun and Sam had a great time running around and we were able to sit and relax to music. Here he is all sweaty with an ill gotten pair of sun glasses from Verna...wearing them upside down.
I love this picture and his expression. That would be a dead cockroach on the ground that Quinn killed outside. Sam was very interested and had to get down close to really study it.
This was the first morning in the new house. We had no food other than cereal and milk...so he ate two bowls and went to Auntie Debbie's for the day and night and got much more balanced food. I called her that morning and asked her to feed our child as we had little food in the house yet. Again, thank goodness for amazing friends.
Such boy joy! Any time Quinn is near the ground, Sam is tackling and wrestling with him.
He loves to sit on his back as he does push ups.
