Samuel Edwin Holub Has Arrived!!

 Samuel decided to join us on July 25th at 1:35pm. Just a day past his official due date of July 24th.  He was in a big rush and arrived after about two hours of pretty intense labor (that's really putting it lightly), but about 12 hours of overall labor. He weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long. He has lots of light brown hair and already such a sweet personality. Quinn and I are pretty much totally over the moon already and are adjusting to parenthood. Each day/night has been so different, but we're rolling with it. Quinn has been home all week, which has been so, so wonderful. All the three of us do each day is eat, sleep, kiss and cuddle. What an amazing week it has already been. Here are a few of the very first pictures at the Birthing Center. Delivering at the center was such a great experience. I don't think things could have gone better for any of us, and what an amazing start on our journey with Samuel!

The count down is on!

We are officially at 39 weeks with only 6 more days until the official due date, July 24th, but who's counting. It has been over 105 degrees for the past several days, weeks really, and have had a record setting number of days over 100 this summer, aggggh. And, the air conditioning in my Jeep went out last week. Thank goodness the auto mechanic guy took pity on me (once he saw my gigantic belly) and quickly fixed it. In looking at my previous belly pictures, and remembering how big I felt then, those were small potatoes, it's serious now. The nursery is ready, the fridge and freezer are packed, all we have to do now is wait on Baby Holub to make his or her appearance and we can hardly wait! Those friendly little kicks and nudges have turned into karate chops and cannon balls. So I think baby is as ready to join the world as I am.

Holub Baby Shower

My dear friends Debbie, Ashley, Jennifer, Brooke and sister Verna organized the most thoughtful and loving baby shower for me and Baby Holub. I might be biased, but I think it was the loveliest shower and felt so loved, spoiled and special all afternoon. The amazing food, delicious cake, sweet decorations and sentiment were all so wonderful, not to mention all the great gifts! I adore baby hats, so hats were part of the theme and I received so many adorable hats, and I can't wait to put them on the baby and snap photos. So for all of those who attended and even those who couldn't be there, from near and far (there were a few out of towner's) many, many thanks!
