For Quinn's first Father's Day this year, we headed down south to Port Aransas, which is just a little bit north of Corpus Christi. This was Sam's and Odelia's first time to the ocean and they LOVED it, both of them. Luckily it is just a 4 1/2 drive away, not to bad for a weekend get away. The beaches weren't over crowded yet for this time of year, so we had lots of room to roam, and Odelia had lots of room to chase seagulls, which she thought was the best time. We had to bring plenty of sun protection, as I have two pretty white boys in my group, and we all left sunburn free. We did lug a baby pack-n-play to the beach, which I know seems ridiculous. But it was really the only way to be able to put Sam down and ensure that sand, dead jelly fish, and all sorts of other sea debris didn't end up in his mouth.

| Here's our beach get-up, plenty of shade for all. |

This was right before a wave hit Sam in the face. Rather than crying, he just shook it off and tried to crawl right back out into the water. |
Sam loved the beach. He just crawled up and down along the water line. Some of the sweet memories I have to date is watching him enjoy the ocean so much. |
| "Come on Mama, let's go!!" |
| " I LOVE the beach!" |
| "I've got sand in a terrible place..." |
Since we are awake (woken up by Sam) by 6:30am, we decided to take an early morning walk on the beach before breakfast, and it was lovely. Odelia was so happy chasing all the seagulls on an empty beach. Just look at those ears and tail! |
Happy Father's Day! We found this mom and pop diner for breakfast, and it was fan-ta-stic! They were super sweet and could see Sam's hungry little face and brought out cut up bananas for him right as we sat down and made him his own little pancakes (sam-cakes, as Quinn calls them), just because. We loved it. |
