Trot for Your Dinner! (Thanksgiving in Austin)

Just finishing up the race and heading to head home to make some dinner!

Seth, Becky and Matthew drove down from Parsons, Kansas to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with us. We thought what better way to show them around Austin, than to participate in the 5 mile Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.  So we loaded up the babies, two jogging strollers, Odelia and took off to do a little exercise before we started our day of eating and lazing. It is always pretty impressive seeing over 20,000 other people running or walking, with such a feeling of good cheer in the air.

It was so fun having them visit and we really enjoyed getting to spend time with Matthew, who is 17 months old. It was like a preview of what to anticipate as Samuel gets older, and what areas of the house need better baby-proofing! Becky and Seth were invaluable in sharing great parenting tips about things that have worked or not worked so well for them. Since they are such a musical family, there was lots of singing, guitar playing and baby screeching going on. So between the dog running crazy, half naked babies playing tambourines, very be-lated bedtimes, Sam with carrots still stuck to his neck from dinner, parents playing guitars, we had a very wonderful holiday.

his tie-dye in support of Austin weirdness.
Beginning of the race and walking towards the Capital. Happy Turkey Day!
Austin skyline in the background. Both kids
fell asleep mid-way through the race.
Puppy, you're going the wrong way!
Odelia cleaning the missed carrots off Sam. It's a nice partnership they have.

Matthew was either playing the tambourine or sneaking into the cabinet to steel the honey. He was obsessed with the honey bottle, not sure why.
Thanksgiving night mayhem. The kids actually slept through all the music
playing and singing once they finally went to bed. Incredible!
How adorable! We can't wait to see Matthew again.
Oh, how life has changed. Two best friends and their babies.
