Four months old, and loving carrots, power tools and Christmas lights!

We are having lots of fun introducing new foods to Sam. Some he loves, such as carrots and peas, others not so much, such as green beans. It's always an adventure to see how he's going to respond to new foods, and watching Quinn feed him. This week, sweet potatoes and squash are on the menu. 

      It is so hard to believe that Sam is four months old and growing and developing in leaps and bounds. Everyday he is doing something new and it is so amazing to see the awe on his face. He just realized that we have a dog and cat and he watches them as they prance around his exer-saucer! At his 4 month doctor's visit, he was weighing in at a whopping 17.2 lbs, and was such a happy baby, until he had to get his shots. He had his first cold last week and it was so sad. So it was lots of holding and rocking to soothe him. 
     We also put up the Christmas lights and got his first tree. He can sit and stare at the lights for a good 30 min. and be totally entertained. We are considering leaving them up all year, as the extra 30 min. of Sam being entertained simply by lights is always welcomed. We are gearing up to head back to Kansas for the holidays, and are so excited to introduce him to all the family and friends. We also just traded in my Jeep Wrangler for a more family friendly car. It was a sad day for me, as I've loved my Jeep for almost 10 years, and have gone on many adventures in that thing! But it was time and I think Quinn and I have both strained several muscles and maybe developed a hernia getting him into and out of the two door Jeep (not really).

Time to bundle up! It's hitting the 20's and 30's at night. Pretty cold for these Texans!

Always on the move, more now than ever.

Just can't get enough of these lights!

Sam was fussing while we were decorating the house. But once Quinn put him
in the carrier to help participate, he was very enthralled and so sweet.
