| Fisherman's Warf |
For Spring break we headed out to California to visit Anna, Eric and the kids. It was so nice seeing everyone and having time to visit and really catch up. Now that the kids are little older, they played and played like crazy people. They were so happy to have the cousins together. Sam and Isla said their favorite part was playing in the hot tub, bath water warm of course. We were joking that it was the California cow tank rather than a metal corrugated cow tank we used to swim in growing up in Kansas.
Anna and I started out the visit going to the show, Hamilton. It was great sister time and an amazing show. Then we headed to the Warf on Pier 39 to go on a ferry boat out past the Golden Gate bridge and around Alcatraz Island. The kids loved the boat ride and it was a great view of the city. We played on the Warf afterwards, which was like a carnival and have fun kid activities.

| Silly Isla with Daddy. Taking in the San Francisco skyline. |
| Our attempt at a family photo. But given the shadows and a rocky boat, this was the best we could manage. |
| This is actually on a Carosel. The boys started out on this tea cup ride and then Phoenix and then Isla saw the fun and joined in to. I thought for sure they were going to lose their lunch, they were twirling so fast. They were laughing their heads off!. |
| Girls had to join in on the fun. |
| "California cow tank" They played in the hot tub for a few hours as a time, having so much fun. |
| Girls evening out. We had a lovely dinner at, Rich Table. And then were lucky enough to see Hamilton as it was just starting in San Fran. |
| Dim Sum! We couldn't miss out on some Chinese treats! |
| We were able to meet up with Aunt Elizabeth, who lives in Berkley for the morning and visit the Aquarium. The main exhibit was Sharks of Alcatraz. It was impressive how large their underwater tunnel was. |
| You can't see it, but there is a giant octopus right behind their heads. |
| Family picture. Of course with the kids both having silly faces and expressions |
We still had a few days of Spring Break once we got home from California. We were able to relax and just enjoy some home time. The Texas Star Rodeo was happening as well as South by South West, but we only went to the rodeo. Most years it has been rainy, but this year the weather was beautiful. We started the afternoon out on the Ferris wheel. You can see all the way to downtown Austin.
