| Hooray, it's Fall!! |
| Happy boy on the antique tractor. Anything with a seat and steering wheel makes him happy. Isla, not as excited. |
We went to Sweet Berry Pumpkin patch this year again in anticipation of Fall. It was in the mid-80's and hot. So needless to say, it wasn't feel very Fall weather like. But we had a great time all the same. This kids always love all the activities, and this year was no exception. Isla definitly enjoyed it more this year, being a year older and wasn't bounced off the huge bouncy by the bigger kids. She adores trains and things she can sit in that go, so the tractor pull train ride was perfect. Sam was nuts with excitement as usual and didn't get lost in the corn maze as he did the year before. Overall we've had a really good Fall and it's crazy to believe we are into the Holiday season. Seems like it was just Halloween!
| But she does love the, "choo-choo riiiiiddddeee." She was very excited and stoic waiting to take off. But the very last second, she started to cry and decided she didn't want to go alone. So Mama got a tractor barrel ride too. It was a tight squeeze, but she was a happy girl and then cried on the ground when it was over. |
| This year I kept an extra close eye on the boy as to not lose him in the maze like last year. I had a panic attack last year and wasn't ready to repeat. Luckily, the corn was a little shorter this year and he was easier to spy. |
| Isla's very contemplative look into the distance, pondering pumpkins... |
| Sam was a big id and rode all on his own. Not to scary for this 4 year old! |
| The giant bouncy. This year she was the master. She was able to run, jump, flop and everything. Last year, she was a little to small and got bounced off by the bigger kids running by, lots of tears then. |
| No Berry Farms trip would be complete without eating the homemade strawberry Popsicle. They are really that good. They grow the strawberries on their farm. |
| Yup, that good. Goof troops! |
| Aunt Verna looking lovely next to these crazy Popsicle stained kids. |
| Muscle man is trying to decided on the perfect pumpkin. |
| He was like a gazelle, bounding back and forth across the jumpy. If you can't tell, we spent a lot of time here. |
| Following the boss, Isla. "COME Na" (Isla's way of saying Aunt Verna) |
| The end of the corn maze, gotta ring the bell! |
| Isla modeling her pumpkin shirt and getting into Mama's shoes. |
| More fun on the tractors |
| Time to feed the goats. Isla wasn't super excited to let them eat out of hands, but she did it until she decided it was better to just hold the little plastic cup out for them to eat from. No hands dirty that way....or goat slobber |
| Every attempt at a cute kids pic on an old truck failed. But this is the closest good pic. |
| Ahhhh, invasion of robots and owls!! Both Sam and Isla chose their costumes. Sam's was homemade and unfortunately the head part turned out to be to heavy to wear all night long. But he looked pretty awesome with some LED lights and his Candy Meter, compliments and Aunt Verna. |
| And don't forget his jet pack! |
| Cutie owl. But don't be fooled. She got the most candy by standing extra long at each door with her bag open. She wouldn't leave until she got at least 2, if not more, pieces of candy at each house. It took her about 4 hours to understand what this Trick-Or-Treating thing was all about. But when she did figure it out, she was unstoppable. |
| "Owww, Owww" |
| Geared up and ready to go!! |
| Here he is in full garb. It was awesome, he would go up to the doors and say, "I..am..a..robot.." in his goofy robot voice. He got extra candy points for that. |
| The loot! This was bag # 1 of 2. Don't worry, 3/4 of it was recycled back into the candy bowl to hand back out. Nobody needs that much candy in their house, especially the adults when the children go to bed. |
| Sam had the pumpkin vision, but Daddy had to execute it. He wanted a scary face with teeth. Here they are making a plan., or really just winging it, which is how they both work. |
| Mama and Isla, cleaning out seeds. She was really excited to get in there and clean some pumpkins. Apparently from all this pictures, she doesn't wear shoes. Which is somewhat true, she likes to go shoe-less most of the time. And when it's still mid 80's at the end of October in Texas, shoe-less is optional. |
| Handing out candy. Our neighborhood is crazy. It is usually quiet, except for Halloween, the streets become crowded with tons of kids and families. We run out of candy every year and I even bought the Costco size bags! Sam and Isla loved handing out the candy and would hold a piece in each hand and run to meet the kids half way into the driveway to give it to them. They wouldn't even let them make it to the door! |
