Soccer and Football

Shockingly this picture turned out great because just 30 seconds before he was having a complete melt down because he had to switch his reversible jersey,  outside in front of people. And it was just a rough morning, for who knows why.

Soccer was for Sam, who is 5  and football was for Trae, who is 21. This was the most sporting activities I have been involved in for the past 15 years at least. Sam played his first season of soccer on a YMCA team. It was pretty freaking cute. It was an hour every Saturday, the first 30 min. was for practice and the last was for the game. It was mostly learning the rules of the game, how to work as a team and just running around and having fun. Quinn totally got into it. He even coached one game while the main coach was out. It's a good thing he is so big, he just swooped a kid from here to there to get them to the right spots on the field. The kids thought it was like a ride, they loved it.

The giant amidst the 5 year olds. So fun to watch.

Pre-game agilities. Rock jumping.

Good gaming it. Moving on to snacks and juice. They actually won this game, it was the only game they won.
Good way to end the season.

Huddle time, Quinn trying to herd cats and get all their attention at once.

Girl friend working on her own ball skills behind the scene. She was a great cheer leader
and came to all the games with her own little mini fold up chair and kids camera.

Kicking it in!

Trae is a Senior at Fort Hays State in Kansas and on the football team. They played a bowl game all the way down in Copperas Cove, Texas. Far, far away from Kansas. But only about 1.5 hours from Austin. It was the first week in December and we had the privilege to go and watch the Fort Hays Tigers win their first bowl game!! The kids have never been to a football game, so this was super fun. And it was pretty cold that evening, perfect football and hot chocolate drinking weather. We were so proud to watch Trae, our sweet and grown up boy play. It was a small game, and afterwards we were all able to hang out on the field, so cool. Trae was very sad that Cliff wasn't able to be there, but said this game was for him. But I'm sure he was watching with great proudness for his oldest son.

Trae Barret and his team

After the game just hanging out. Isla trying to hold his helmet, so heavy!

Trae and his adorable and amazing girlfriend. She drove all the way from Kansas to watch and support.

AHHH, stinky and dirty Trae. But how cute is this. Big and little cousins!.

Aunt Katie, Trae and Isla.

Auties and cousins

Trae is on the specials team, but had quiet a bit of extra play time toward the end of the game.

They killed it, so proud!.

We brought a GIANT thermos of hot chocolate, it didn't last.
