Sam turned 5 years old at the end of July! His actual birthday was on a Monday and we made the most of celebrating pretty much all week long. This summer marks his last summer before starting school and we've had a fun filled summer. That will be my hopefully soon to follow next post. We had a small birthday party the Saturday following, and it was a hit! The theme was race cars, which was actually from his 4th birthday, but he was sick last year and we had to cancel the party. So we reused and embellished the decorations, with hubcap banners and all! Sam requested a bunny cake.....very odd, but that's what he wanted. So race cars and bunny cakes it was!

| Our happy boy, getting so big! |
Even though the party wasn't until Saturday, we totally needing some birthday cupcakes for the actual day. He actually got to choose the ones he wanted as he is a baked good lover.
| $5 from Grandma and Great Grandma, thanks!! |
| We started the birthday morning at the Thinkery with friends Vincent, Violet, Christian, Auntie Jennifer and her Mom, Grandma Mary. Of course Auntie Jennifer thought the day needed to start with birthday cupcakes, at 10am. |
| Hanging out in the giant light bright room, also so cool! |
| Two besties and the goofiest boys together. |
| Party day! So Quinn has a good friend who rents out inflatable jumpy houses. So we are often lucky enough to get the jumpy house that doesn't get rented at a discount. This year, we scored. It was an inflatable bounce house AND water slide. It was amazing!! The kids played on it until they were delirious. Then we as a family had a fun morning on Sunday enjoying it all over again. I have to say, it is a super fast water slide. |
| Party clan, Vincent, Sam, Presleigh and sweet new baby Hendrix. |
| Presleigh was all about this slide! |
| Pizza party and watermelon limeades, perfect summer time birthday party food. Isla's face is pretty hysterical. I can't say I caught her at an odd moment, I'm pretty sure she is purposefully making this face. |
| Bunny cake creation in action. Verna wasn't able to be here for the actual party day, so she make the bunny cake in advance and all I had to do was frost it. Thank goodness for Aunt Verna, I was certainly not feeling confident in my cake creation and decorating skills, but she made it as easy as possible. |
| This finished product...not to bad. |
| Birthday celebrations all ready! |
| Such a happy birthday boy! He was super excited to have Lego candles on top of it all. |
| His birthday request was to eat the bunny's head. |
| Party table enjoying cake and home made ice cream. |
| Present with Isla, Sam and Amelia. |
| Auntie Debbie showing Presleigh how it's down with a Whoopie cushion. |
| Such a sweet picture of Christian and Isla. She loves babies and was all over the little meat ball! |
| At it again on Sunday morning. We had it another couple of hours and made very good use out of it. |
| Aunt Verna sandwich. Verna came back from her trip from North Carolina. She was miss! |
